ADAS Programme To Support Agro-forestry Seedling Growers In Adamawa through Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency In Collaboration with Fed. Min. Of Environment.

The Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme ADAS-P has held a meeting with the Federal Min. Of Environment aimed at supporting Agro-forestry seedling growers to key into Adamawa State Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency.
In a welcome address, the Head of Component one ADAS-P Dr. Tasiu Idi who thanked their collaborators for their Cooperation explained the model on which the Agro-Forestry Seedling Growers will be supported to large productivity and access to market in the State.
On his part, the Secretary, Adamawa Agribusiness Cooperative Agency
Mr. Shuaibu Ibrahim explained that Agro-Forestry seedling growers are relevant towards Business expansion and access to Market and Finance, expressed their readiness to support them.
Speaking, The Zonal Comptroller Federal Ministry of Environment
Mrs. Safiya Muhammad Abubakar stressed the need to identify the next line of action towards supporting the submitted profiled Agroforestry seedling growers into Climate smart Agriculture on the proposed site in Namtari, Yola south LGA.
The Zonal Comptroller also point out National Agency of Great Green World, an organization under the umbrella of Federal Ministry of Environment that offtakes Agro-Forestry produce and support seedling growers to Climate Smart Agriculture.
The areas of ADAS-P support includes
Capacity Building to smallholder farmers, extension workers, and other stakeholders in sustainable agriculture practices, climate resilience, and CSA technologies as well as
Knowledge Exchange,
Piloting Projects,
Policy Support and process to develop a framework for developing climate-smart agriculture for the Agro-forestry seedling growers.
ADAS Programme is a state government owned priority through Public Private Partnership Model launch by Adamawa State Governor Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over two years ago.
