Security personnel attached to the Adamawa State Government House, Yola who where sponsored by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah Sunday converged on the grand mosque of Kaabah to pray for the success of Governor Fintiri’s administration and the entire people of Adamawa.
The security personnel who are thirteen in number were drawn from different security apparatus such as the Department of State Security, police ,Civil Defence, and FRSC as well as members of the Vigilante group.
According to them, this is the best thing that has ever happened to them in their life time, performing Hajj, one of the pillars of Islam.
Since the inception of the Fintiri’s administration five years ago, the Governor has been sponsoring both Muslim and Christian security personnel attached to the government house for pilgrimage to Makkah and Jerusalem.
According to the governor, is aimed at assisting them to fulfill their religious obligation.
Dawaf basically refers to the act of circumambulating the Holy Ka’abah in Masjid al-Haram in reverence to God. The importance of Tawaf can be judged by the fact that it connects a believer with Allah ,reflects every orbiting matter in this universe, forms a necessary step in greater and lesser pilgrimage and more.
