By Abdulaziz Abubakar Damare
The Adamawa State Agribusiness Support
Programme (ADAS-P) recently organized a stakeholder meeting to deliberate on a workshop for the development of aquaculture sub-sector business strategy.
Dr. Tasi’u Idi, Head of Component One at ADAS-P, highlighted plans for the upcoming workshop focusing on aquaculture market strategy formulation. He emphasized the need for stakeholders to translate discussions into actions that bridge the gap between research and practice, ultimately benefiting the state’s populace.
Key outcomes of the meeting included the review of stakeholder inputs on the Adamawa State Aquaculture Sub-sector Business Development Strategy, which encompasses upgrading production infrastructure, restocking natural lakes and ponds, developing commercial infrastructure, promoting affordable technology and equipment, enhancing capacity building, and implementing interventions.
The meeting was attended by distinguished figures such as Dr. Aminu Raji (Retired University Don), Dr. Markus Danbaki, Mr. Yaneh R. Nuhu (Director Fisheries MLAD), and representatives from Adamawa Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency, among others. Mal. Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai (COO ADAS-P) and Edna Dionisco of Afrique HUB Network also participated remotely via Zoom.
