The Adamawa State Agribusiness Support (ADAS-P) has expressed it readiness to upscale and sustain relevant achievements/projects of Multi-sectorial Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) aimed at improving market and Value Chain a cross Adamawa State.
The Chief Operating Officer of ADAS Programme Mal. Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai disclosed this during an engagement meeting with the management of MCRP in Yola.
Gafai explained that ADAS Programme is intervening in seven key areas that includes: Establishing Standard Structure/Database, Improving Access to market and Finance by providing collateral.
Other achievements of ADAS Programme are establishing “Adamawa State Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency, Partnership & Collaboration, promoting 140 cooperative societies through Traditional Institutions and clustering farmers among others “said Gafai”
Gafai added that ADAS Programme has signed an agreement with specialist to promote bee keeping, fishing among others.
In his encouraging words, the Technical Coordination Specialist MCRP Adamawa Adamawa Project Coordinator Unit Mr. Julius Mbidomti who is visibly delighted, expressed their readiness to partner ADAS-P considering market and Value Chain as one of their priorities.
The MCRP Boss added that they are trying to set up mini factories and rehabilitate those affacted by insurgency in the state.
Contributing, Hassan Missari of MCRP, said they are currently training over 100 extension workers on crops and Livestocks which will help to boost Agribusiness in the state.
