The Adamawa State Commissioner Min. of Health And Human Services Hon. Chief Felix Tangwami (Garkuwan Mbula) has challenged parents, guardians, community leaders among other stakeholders to support government vaccination and other programmes aimed at promoting the health of citizens in the state.
The commissioner made the called while featuring in a live Hausa programme “Jihar Mu a Yau on ABC, Yola” broadcast under the office of the SSA New Media to the Governor Alh. Muhammad B. Tukur
The Commissioner explained that the State government have taken strong measures on the recent measles outbreak in the state to overcome the problem adding that the Ministry has assigned health workers in all the local government areas to take necessary measures.
While commenting on insufficient Health workers and their absence at night, the Commissioner says some health centers (clinics)are not designed to run for twenty four hours shift especially in rural areas, explaining that in three categories of health centers only two hospital are designed to work for twenty four hours service.
According to him, the hospitals that have the capacity to serve 24hrs are General Hospitals, Cottage and Primary Health Care Centers while basic health care centers (clinics)are to run twelve hours from morning to evening.
He reiterates the effort of the state government promote health care services by providing competent and dedicated health care workers and additional health facilities a cross the state.
The commissioner advice people of Adamawa to report any maltreatment or misconduct shown by their staff to patient and called on people to support the Fintiri’s led administration as the government is working hard to change the face of Adamawa state.
