Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has pledged his administration’s commitment to strengthening ties with newly coronated traditional rulers to promote development and enhance economic prosperity in their communities.

Governor Fintiri made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the paramount ruler of Madagali Local Government Area, Ptil Madagali, His Royal Highness Dr. Ali Danburam, at his palace in Gulak.

The visit marked the governor’s first official engagement with the traditional leader since his coronation two months ago. The governor, who was on a walking visit to celebrate Easter in his hometown of Gulak, used the opportunity to identify with the traditional institution and the people of Madagali.

While at the palace, Governor Fintiri urged the paramount ruler, his district heads, and subjects to remain vigilant, noting that the threat of insurgency in the region is not yet over.

He cited recent attacks in some local government areas as evidence that the activities of criminal elements persist, and emphasized the need for heightened community vigilance.

The governor called on traditional leaders to take a proactive role in ensuring the security of their communities. He assured them of the government’s continued support, while urging them to share timely and credible information with security agencies and government authorities.

He specifically tasked district heads with the responsibility of providing relevant intelligence that would bolster public safety and security. He also encouraged them to remain loyal to the Ptil Madagali and uphold unity within the chiefdom.

Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s readiness to collaborate with traditional institutions to improve education, particularly for out-of-school children, and to empower youth through job creation in order to boost grassroots economic development.

In his remarks, Ptil Madagali, HRH Dr. Ali Danburam, expressed gratitude to the governor for creating the Madagali Chiefdom, a move he described as restoring the dignity and cultural heritage of the people.

He pledged unwavering loyalty to the governor and his administration, and offered prayers for the success of his leadership, both now and beyond his tenure.

The royal father also reaffirmed his commitment to working with the state government to ensure the security and welfare of his people. He congratulated Governor Fintiri on his appointment as Chairman of the upcoming PDP National Convention, expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver and praying for his success in that role.
