El-Rufai is Not a Coward and Can Never Be

The former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, is known for being highly principled, educated, strict, and bold, particularly when it comes to decision-making. He has been involved in the Nigerian political landscape since the inception of democracy and has participated in various political movements. He undoubtedly possesses a comprehensive understanding of Nigerian politics, having served as the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as a two-term governor of Kaduna State.

His track record in Abuja as Minister and in the Kaduna State government speaks volumes, particularly regarding the clear blueprint he established to improve welfare and fast-track development in both Abuja and Kaduna State.

No like-minded individual, especially from the North, would want to be part of the current administration due to evident injustices in the distribution of resources, nepotism, corruption, and, worst of all, the unending introduction of anti-human policies that have forced people into abject poverty and hunger.

Politicians like Nasiru El-Rufai, who are vocal about condemning wrongdoing and praising what is right, should be at the forefront of Northern Nigerian politics—not those political demagogues whose interests lie solely in siphoning public funds for their self-centered agendas.

While El-Rufai did campaign for Tinubu, his intentions were pure. After the election, many insincere politicians joined the bandwagon, and today, they fill almost all the significant positions within the administration.

For those claiming that El-Rufai is criticizing the administration due to his inability to secure a ministerial appointment, it is important to recognize that he has previously served as a minister and as a two-term governor. He remains a member of the ruling party, and his ability to criticize when warranted demonstrates that he is far beyond the interest of merely securing a ministerial position.

El-Rufai, along with a few others, are great leaders who use their intellect and resources to champion the progress and development of Northern Nigeria. Unfortunately, politicians have succeeded in tarnishing his reputation in the eyes of the impoverished Northerners, who are the true victims of anti-human and undemocratic policies.

Criticizing El-Rufai comes at your own peril. He is a man who works tirelessly to protect the interests of the poor masses. If you are led to believe that his actions are motivated by political interests, it’s worth considering that you, too, may be a victim of misguided perceptions.
