Adamawa State Deputy governor professor Kaletapwa Farauta Saturday led government officials on the monthly environmental sanitation reintroduced by governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The deputy governor assured the sustainability of the exercise to restore the sanity, cleanness and beauty of the state.
In what can best be described as leadership by example, the deputy governor of Adamawa state, professor Kaletapwa Farauta led other government functionaries to monitor the sanitation exercise.
The monthly sanitation according to her, is aimed at promoting personal and environmental hygiene which is one of the measures to prevent the spread of diseases.
The deputy governor stated that the exercise is picking up, advising residents to take their personal hygiene serious and protect the environment.
She said the visionary leadership of governor Fintiri is on its toes to ensure sustainability of the exercise, noting that under his watch, the beauty of Adamawa most be restored and maintained.
For her, the sanitation has come to stay, urging the citizens to comply for a clean, healthier and hygienic society.
Professor Farauta further encouraged the citizens to shun any act capable of jeopardizing the peace of the state, instead stand against any agents of destruction and maintain a peaceful Adamawa, while government continues to provide the needed infrastructures among other dividends of democracy for their benefit.
While urging residents to key into the laudable policies and initiatives of government geared towards achieving a greater Adamawa, the commissioner for environment Muhammed Sadiq and the chairman Yola North local government area Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta expressed commitment to
compliment the effort of governor Fintiri for a cleaner and well developed Adamawa.
The sanitation exercise is conducted every last Saturday of the month, with the mobile courts at hand to try violators during the hours of the exercise.
