Gulak, headquarters of Madagali local government area of Adamawa State was agog on Tuesday as supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) storm the area for campaigns flag off, ahead of the council elections, slated July 13, 2024 in the state.
At the event held in the LG Secretariate in Gulak, Governor Umaru Fintiri urges the electorate to rally roound all PDP candidates during the elections to reap more dividends of democracy.
The Governor represented by the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Bathiya Wesley charged the residents to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the election.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu acknowledges that the people of Madagali have contributed much to making the PDP a strong political party hence the need for them to maintain the spirit.
An elder statesman, Hon Sale Kinjir calls on voters in the area to turnout en masse to exercise their franchise during the election by voting candidates of PDP, so as to consolidate the achievements so far recorded by Governor Fintiri.
On his part, Alh Dauda Saidu (Dan Maliki Madagali) drew the attention of the state PDP exco on the need to create avenues within the party for youths and women development to complement the efforts of the Fintiri led administration.
Highlight of the event was presentation of flag to chairmanship flag bearer of the party in the area, Mr Simon Musa Shashi while cultural dance display entertained the gathering.
