Atiku’s Coalition: The Last Hope for Hopeless Nigerians

Spread the love

Believe it or not, the relentless efforts of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in forming a coalition with concerned members of the opposition and like-minded politicians, even within the ruling party, remain a beacon of hope for the poor citizens of Nigeria.

The Tinubu-led administration has ensured that Nigerians continue to struggle in every aspect of life, particularly through the introduction of anti-human policies that make life increasingly difficult for the average citizen. Many believe that a common Nigerian has already lost hope in seeing the country improve, as conditions seem to worsen by the day.

The National Assembly, including both the Senate and the House of Representatives, has often appeared ineffective, showing little concern for the dire situation the country finds itself in. Unfortunately, this group is responsible for overseeing the activities of the executive and enacting laws that favour the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.

However, the opposite has occurred, as the Senate President is publicly campaigning for the re-election of the incumbent president, while senators from opposition parties shamelessly applaud him.

One of the most puzzling aspects of this administration was the appointment of Nyesome Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, along with other state governors who had previously performed poorly during their time in office.

The recent mass defections from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition groups were instigated by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a crooked attempt to steer Nigeria toward a one-party system, which is detrimental to society at large.

The federal government has also succeeded in swaying many state governors, particularly those from the opposition, to align themselves with the federal government. As a result, the once-strong opposition party, the PDP, is now weakened and struggling to compete with the ruling APC.

Former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, known for his political acumen, has moved to a party that is not the PDP due to internal issues deliberately caused by the ruling party to undermine it. Political analysts initially viewed his move to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as a miscalculation, but it now seems that he has made a wise decision.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, remains cautious despite rumours from the ruling party that he might consider joining the APC in exchange for the Vice President position. Kwankwaso has wisely chosen to observe the situation before making a decision, especially given the political rivals surrounding the president.

Labour Party candidate Peter Obi is also watching closely, recognising the potential benefits of a coalition. Unlike before, he no longer denies negotiations with his former boss, Atiku Abubakar, regarding a possible coalition aimed at securing Nigeria from hunger, insecurity, and hardship.

Ultimately, regardless of the political party or platform he aligns with, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains a true democrat who pursues his presidential ambition through legitimate democratic means. Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and other like-minded politicians should unite to form this coalition that may bring an end to this family and friends government.
