As ADAS-P Trains 300 Women On Poultry Management Best Practices, Member Kabiru Mijinyewa Donates N1m To Beneficiaries

The Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) has officially kickstarted the training of 300 Women through Train The Trainer (TAT) process where the first 30 well trained beneficiaries will step down the skills to the remaining 270 women a cross Yola south LGA.

The training fully sponsored by ADAS Programme will be implemented in collaboration with Olam & Amo Farms through the Centre For Women Adolescent & Empowerment Center Yola.

Declaring the training opened, the chairman board of ADAS Alh. Kashim Njidda (Dallatun Ganye) challenged the women to consider the training and poultry farming as a serious business that can move them to greater heights.

Kashim Njidda who described ADAS Programme as the priority of the state government, advised the women to apply the knowledge learnt into their poultry farming activities.

During the opening ceremony held at Ibzama Yola, the former speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and Member Representing Yola South Constituency Rt. Hon. Kabiru Mijinyewa, pledged to donate one million naira to support the beneficiaries.

The donation will given in two tranches of N500,000 in June and N500,000 In July respectively.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Lead Consultant and Chief Operating Officer of ADAS Programme Mal. Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai stated that the programme will be extended to the remaining 20 local government areas of the state.

Gafai explained that the purpose of the programme is to make women have more income to have means of partaking in the Health Insurance Scheme to better their health.

Briefing the beneficiaries, the head of Component One of ADAS Programme Dr. Tasi’u Idi, said the programme will connect the poultry farmers to offtakers to boost Agribusiness in the state.

Speaking separately, the resource persons Mr. Ishaku Bata from Olam Farm & Miss Zuqaida Abubakar Hassan from Amo Farms enjoined the participants to use the opportunity to involve in poultry farming and business to be self reliant.

Ishaku who called on them always give prevention and purchase vaccine from reputable sources, also challenged them to adhere to professional instructions.

Highlights of the programme was paper presentations, photographs, questions and answer session, while the practical aspects comes up on Thursday.
