The management of the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) alongside other critical stakeholders has paid a courtesy call on Hama Bachama, Homun Dr. Daniel S. Ismaila CON (Pwawo Nomwe, Cilongo Diya) and seeks Royal blessings.
Speaking, the leader of the delegation from ADAS-P Dr. Ahmed Garba who appreciates Hama Bachama For the Honour done to them, explained that the purpose of the visit is to seek his support, prayers and permission as well as intimate on the programme and their role in ensuring the success of the programme.
Garba added that the programme will facilitate the emergence of sustainable Agribusiness in Adamawa State as priotize by Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration.
He described the traditional institutions as strong and reliable institution with guarantee and better structure that will help them in identifying farmers and farmlands.
Responding, Hama Bachama Homun Dr Daniel S. Ismaila CON, expressed his readiness to support ADAS-P in implementing the prestigious programme across his chiefdom, which he described as timely.
Similarly, as part of efforts to kickstart the implementation of the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme designed by the state government, ADAS Programme has organized a step down Sensitisation meeting with all critical stakeholders in agricultural activities in Numan Chiefdom.
Those involves in the meeting held at the Hama Bachama’s Palace were District Scribes, Agents, Directors Agric, Sectional Heads of Livestock and Agric, from Numan and Lamurde Local Government Areas respectively.
Others are Implementation committee, Heads of Component of ADAS Programme among others.
Speaking, the chairman implementation committee Dr. Ahmed Garba who described the programme as that of the state government, said ADAS is working round the clock to facilitate and link farmers with relevant organization to support them.
Garba says a highly standard Database and structure will be created for easy accessing of farmers.
Contributing, the Director Chieftaincy Affairs Adamawa State Mal. Ibrahim Yaro, challenged the participants to forward ADAS message down to farmers at the grassroots.
In his presentation, the Head of Component One ADAS Programme (A department responsible for promotion of value chain development and climate smart agriculture) Dr. Tasi’u Idi, advised farmers to join a registered cooperative society to enable them benefit from the programme.
Dr. Tasi’u Idi explained that Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency has been established to enhance access to finance within the Agribusiness.
In his remarks, the District Scribe of Mbebongun Mr. Nultu Andrawus, Commended ADAS-P for the laudable and timely initiatives and promised to give their maximum support and cooperation.
