The management of the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme ADAS-P has held a meeting with the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) at
ADAS Programme’s office in Yola on Thursday.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the FOMWAN Secretary said they were at the office to seek support of ADAS-P so that women farmers would key into Agribusiness.
She mentioned among other areas of intervention to include poultry farming, fish farming, saying such support would make the women more productive.
Responding, the Head of Component Two ADAS-P Mr. James Birdling, mentioned areas of collaboration and support to include Aquaculture, Forestry, Livestock, Crops and Vegetation.
On his contributions, the Head of Component One ADAS-P, Dr Tasi’u Idi said ADAS-P is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) which works in partnership with the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri adding that it sources funding from the Nigeria Capital Market.
Dr Idi added that the Programme has an agency, Adamawa State Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency that is responsible for organising and registering of farmers.
He asked FOMWAN to write a letter to seek for partnership with ADAS Programme.
