The disbursement was done in Collaboration with the Adamawa State Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency (an agency established by ADAS-P) to drive Agribusiness Cooperative Financing.
Seeds disbursed includes different varieties of rice, maize and Soya beans to seed farmers from Yola South, Song, Demsa and Hong LGA’s respectively.
Speaking, the Head of Component Four of ADAS Programme Mr. Praise Dauda who commended the seed producers for their cooperation and charged them to read and understand the loan agreement before putting down their signature.
Praise stressed that ADAS is out for business and explained that each beneficiary has deposited 25% of the seeds amount given and will pay the remaining 75% after harvest.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Adamawa state chairman of community based seed entrepreneurs Mal. Baba Sahabo commended the Adamawa State government and ADAS Programme for their foresight in introducing the programme.
He appealed the seed producers to properly utilize the seed to enable them pay the remaining 75% after harvest.
ADAS Programme is a Programme introduced by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration over two years ago to boost Agribusiness in the state through Public Private Partnership.
