The Adamawa State Polytechnic (SPY), is making concerted efforts to resolve the lingering issue of certificates for students who completed courses affiliated with other institutions. This move aims to ensure that affected graduates receive their long-overdue certificates, enabling them to advance their careers.

For nearly six years, some former students have expressed frustration over their inability to obtain their certificates, which are essential for employment and further studies.

Abubakar Adamu, a spokesman for the affected students, voiced their disappointment over the delay, highlighting how the situation has hindered their professional and academic aspirations.

Addressing the concerns, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Muhammad Toungos, assured the students that the issue is being actively addressed.

He explained that when he assumed office, he inherited a backlog of unresolved certificates dating as far back as 2013. Since then, he has been working closely with former rectors, the state government, and affiliated institutions across Nigeria to ensure that all pending certificates are processed and issued.

Dr. Toungos emphasized that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has allocated funds to facilitate the release of these certificates. However, due to the sheer number of students affected, many certificates are still being processed.

As a result, the Polytechnic Council has deliberated on the matter and has submitted an additional funding request to fully resolve the issue.

The rector also urged affected students who have not yet paid their N5,000 affiliation dues to do so promptly, as this will help expedite the certificate issuance process. He assured all concerned graduates that the institution remains committed to resolving the matter as soon as possible.
