The Adamawa State government, in partnership with Datarose Limited, has unveiled digital skills training initiative aimed at empowering 50 youths and women with valuable technological expertise.
Commissioner for the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development, Hammajumba Gatugel in a remark, urged participants to embrace the training with dedication and commitment. He emphasized that the beneficiaries, selected from 21 Local Government Areas across the state, were chosen based on merit, highlighting the initiative’s inclusivity and potential to transform lives.
According to him the program, is designed to foster innovation and opportunity, as well as set to enhance the state’s workforce and equip the next generation with essential skills.
Gatugel also expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for approving and funding the initiative, acknowledging it as a significant step in empowering youth and promoting local economic development.
Coordinator of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA), Michael Zira, outlined that this training is just one of several key programs Governor Fintiri plans to launch in 2025.
Zira encouraged the participants to maximize the opportunity, stressing that successful completion of the program would open doors to more career prospects. He also mentioned that participants’ attendance would be closely monitored, with a minimum of 75% attendance required to earn certification.
Malam Arabo Ishaq, CEO of Datarose, expressed his gratitude to the Adamawa government for supporting local youth development. He shared that the training will last for three weeks and encouraged participants to actively engage with instructors to ensure a rewarding learning experience.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Kwaji Duguri, delivered a welcome address to the participants, encouraging them to fully embrace the three-week digital training skills. He expressed optimism that the training would prove valuable and that the participants would walk away with tangible skills and knowledge.
On behalf of the participants, Isaac Emmanuel expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, committing to not only fully participate but also share the knowledge gained with their communities, amplifying the impact of the initiative across the state.
