The State NLC Chairman Comrade Emmanuel Fashe who led the peaceful protest in yola the Adamawa state capital said labour being the voice of the voiceless workers and masses deemed it neccessary to protest the suffering and hunger bedevelling the people.
The message of dissatisfaction according to the state NLC chairman is for onward transmission to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu decrying that the presidents policies since assumption of office has brought untold hardship on the people and so is totally unacceptable.
According to him if the policies are meant for the people as the federal government keeps saying why then are the people suffering and dying noting how the take home pay has become grossly inadequate owing to the hike in prices of commodities.
While appreciating the Governor for being worker friendly ,Comrade Emmanuel Fashe solicited for the continuation of the payment of ten thousand naira palliative until the federal government concludes on the new national minimum wage.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who commended the NLC for being sensitive to the needs of the masses notes that hunger affects all spheres of human endeavor as hungry person can contribute to the development of the state or the nation.
The current hardship he opines requires the federal governments prompt attention as the peace,progress and development of the country remains sacrosanct.
The Governor through the chief of staff government house yola Dr Edgar Amos commended the cordial relationship existing between government and the labour in the state,disclosing that all government policies laid are based on agreement reached with the labour thanking them for conducting themselves peacefully and assured to relay their message to the appropriate quarters.
