
The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a review, reconciliation, and recovery of funds owed to the state government, particularly from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum’s Project Gazelle initiative.
Briefing reporters after the council’s third meeting of 2025, held on Monday at the Government House in Yola and presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. James Iliya, stated that the review was approved to ensure the state receives all accrued funds.
The council also discussed compensating individuals whose land will be affected by the construction of government science and secondary schools in Madagali and Hong Local Government Areas.
According to Hon. Iliya, compensation will be provided to those whose houses or properties are impacted by the projects.
Additionally, the Executive Council deliberated on the ongoing coronation ceremonies of Emirs and Chiefs in the state.
The government invited the public to the coronation of the Toll of Madagali, HRM Dr. Ali Danburam, on February 19 in Gulak, and HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga, Mbege Ka Michika, on February 20 in Michika.
Hon. Iliya explained that the coronation of new Emirs and Chiefs is part of the state’s efforts to enhance security, bring leadership closer to the people, and strengthen government presence in affected communities.
