ADAMAWA GOV’T COLLABORATES MCRP, DONATES FARM INPUT TO FARMERS

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirms the commitment of his government sustainable support to the agricultural sector, as well as the overall development of Adamawa State.

The Governor, made this known at the official flagoff for the distribution of agricultural livelihood intervention to cooperatives by the North-East Multi-Sectoral Crises Recovery Project (MCRP) Adamawa State Project Coordination Unit, across the 21 local government areas.

Represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, the Adamawa State Governor, said the flagoff distribution of vital agricultural livelihood support, provided by the Multi-Sectoral Crises Recovery Project MCRP Adamawa State Coordination Office, marks another significant milestone in revitalizing Adamawa State crucial economic growth and the welfare of the citizens.

According to Governor Fintiri, as the result for adverse effect of climate change that hampered agricultural productivity and poses threats to farmers and livelihoods, his administration has placed more emphasis on initiative geared towards modernizing and transforming the agricultural sector for enhanced productivity and to increase revenue generation for the state.

He acknowledged the support rendered by MCRP and other allied entities, and said his government has initiated several other programs, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity with the overarching goal of ensuring the prosperity of farmers.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, urged all beneficiaries to maximise the resources provided and embrace modern farming techniques and practices to enhance their yields and livelihoods.

The North-East Multi-Sectoral Crises Recovery Project MCRP Coordinator, Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, said the aimed is to rejuvenate the agricultural sector at this critical time that farming communities are facing unprecedented challenges, hence to cushion the immediate needs of the vulnerable in the society.

Dr. Maurice, said the initiative is not just about providing tools and inputs but about restoring dignity and hope to farmers as well as empowering the youth and women who are the backbone of agricultural sector, to enable them contribute to the prosperity of the state.

He acknowledged the unwavering support and commitment of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, through active participation in every key decision, especially in shaping and guiding interventions, which are testament to his dedication to improve the lives of farmers and the prosperity of the state.

The representative of the World Bank, Serena Cavicchi described the initiative as a solution to ensure food security and sufficiency in the state.

Farm imputs distributed includes: Solar powered mini irrigation pumps, fodder seeds, organic fertilizers, insecticides, sparayers, planter among others.
