Adamawa Flags off Vaccination Against Haemorrhagic Septicemia (HS) Pandemic~ Dr Nyalas

The Adamawa state Ministry of Livestock an Aquaculture development has embarked on a vaccination exercise against the devastating Haemorrhagic Septicemia (HS) pandemic beginning at Gongoshi Grazing Reserve, Mayo-Belwa local government area and other areas of Gongoshi, as well as Demsa local government area, which has claimed the lives of over 1000 animals in neighboring Taraba state.

The Director Veterinary Services of the Ministry disclosed this while featuring on a live Hausa popular programme “Jihar Mu A Yau” broadcast on the state owned radio station and sponsored by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on New Media Alh. Muhammad B. Tukur this Saturday.

The Director stated that 9 LGAs to perform this crescent vaccination, though, it was 7 LGAs that needs to be vaccinated earlier but to show appreciation, the Ministry decided to include Maiha and Fufore in the vaccination.

He stated all modalities have been put in place to ensure that the targeted animals are vaccineted.

The Veterinary expert mentioned that hospitals and diagnosis centers that are of world standard have been constructed, equipped and put to use while more are coming soon.

Dr. Barth commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for giving the needed support and cooperation as well the Commissioner of the Ministry Alh. Tijjani Maksha, for his vast experience and expertise in steering the ministry’s affairs, as well as the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Muhammad Amin Suleiman, for his wise decision-making and leadership acumen.
