As the implementation of the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Program ADAS-P is about to kick start as approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration, The ADAS Programme Leadership has visited the Hon. Commissioner Min For Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs Alh. Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinyewa to seek the Ministry’s support and cooperation.
Briefing the commissioner during the visit, the Chief Operating Officer of ADAS Programme Mal. Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai, described the ministry as a major stakeholder in implementing the programme because of the role of traditional council and local government stakeholders that are all under the Ministry.
Gafai seeks full support and cooperation of the Ministry to enable them achieve their objectives.
The C.O.O. who explained that they have supported the rehabilitation of Agric Departments a cross the state, also upgraded 12 cattles/grains markets in the state to boost the sector.
Gafai who described Agriculture as one of the priorities of the incumbent administration in the state added that they had interface and engaged all relevant Ministries in identifying irrigation sites and clusters.
Responding, the Hon. Commissioner Min For Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs Alh. Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinyewa, expressed his readiness to support ADAS Programme as it implement one of the priorities of the Fintiri’s led administration.
The Commissioner added that ADAS has a lot to change the mindset of the people as the programme is Public Private Partnership.
He explained that the insurgency that ravaged the state in the past which led to giving out support, help in making the people think that it’s free.
Contributing, the administrative Secretary of ADAS implementation committee Mrs. Joy Tarfa, challenged all stakeholders make sure that nothing is left untouched to ensure the success of the programme as priotised by Fintiri’s administration in the state.
