The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has engaged heads of security agencies in Adamawa State as part of efforts to ensure the protection and sustainability of projects executed by the commission across the state.

‎The engagement, which took place on Thursday at the NEDC headquarters in Yola, brought together top security officials to discuss collaborative measures in securing ongoing and completed projects.

‎Speaking at the meeting, the NEDC Coordinator in Adamawa State, Barrister Khalifa Lawal, stressed the importance of working closely with security agencies to safeguard developmental projects.

‎He highlighted some of the projects undertaken by the commission in key sectors such as health, education, and energy, including the installation of solar-powered street lights. He further disclosed that the commission is set to introduce electronic vehicles in the state to ease transportation challenges.

‎In his remarks, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Adamawa, Abdulmalik Bello, commended the NEDC for recognizing the role of security in development. He assured the commission of their readiness to contribute to creating a safe and conducive environment for sustainable growth.

‎The engagement with security agencies comes on the heels of similar consultations recently held by the commission with stakeholders in the state, including the media and religious leaders, as part of a broader strategy to promote project ownership and community participation.
