Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has personally inspected the newly procured Computed Tomography (CT) scan machines as part of his government’s drive to elevate the standards of healthcare in the state.
The governor at the State Specialist Hospital Wednesday, emphasized the administration’s commitment to modernizing hospitals and ensuring that the people of Adamawa benefit from state-of-the-art medical services.
“We have been working round the clock to see that we raise the standards of our hospitals so that we can meet up with modern healthcare delivery,” the governor said.
He noted that two CT scan machines have been purchased – one currently being installed at the State Specialist Hospital and another at the General Hospital in Numan.
Governor Fintiri stressed the urgency of immediate installation. “I have come to see for myself that the contracts should ensure that these machines be installed immediately so that our people should start reaping the benefits,” he explained.
He also highlighted the issue of patients having to travel to Gombe and other cities for dialysis treatments, adding that measures are in place to have these services available locally and free for the people until further arrangements are made.
In addition to the CT scan machines, the governor visited a newly completed one-stop laboratory and the recently activated outpatient department (OPD), which had previously been non-operational.
“I am also here to see the one-stop-laboratory that we built. The OPD has not been functioning but is now completed and come to life,” he noted.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his commitment to continuously improving the healthcare infrastructure in Adamawa, stating, “We will continue to do our best to ensure our people get the best.
“That is the purpose of this government. This government is working and is keeping the expectations of the people. We have recovered the state and are working.”
