Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has described the Department of State Security Service, DSS, as a partner in progress, opining that if Nigeria relies on the service, it will not be at such a crossroads.
Fintiri stated this during the organised in honour of the outgoing State Director Olushola Aguda and the commissioning of the renovated hall at the service headquarters in Yola
The Governor while describing the outgoing Director as a magic man committed to duty, the fourth in the series of Directors he has worked with in the past five years, said he is not surprised by the feats he has achieved in the state believing that the incoming Director will continue from where he has stopped
The DSS personnel, according to the Governor, are robust and intelligent people whose daily security reports have greatly assisted the government in ensuring the security of the state, assuring of the government’s commitment to give its best to support the service.
He urged the officers and men of the service to continue to take their duties seriously, work together, and be open-minded and mindful of their responsibilities to humanity, soliciting that they accord the same support to the incoming Director, James Adagba.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Deputy Director of Administration and Logistics, Shettima Buba, said they received the news of the Director’s transfer with mixed feelings but are mindful of the fact that change is inevitable.
He applauded the outgoing Director for making an impact during his tenure and wished him well in his future endeavours as he pledged their support for the incoming Director.
