Adamawa Govt’ To Assist Victims of Flood Disaster In Michika, Pledged to Arrest Further Occurance

As the rainy season sets in, residents of Blabiri area in Michika local government are counting their losses as a result of flooding that occurred in the area.

The flooding which sends an early warning to the state government has affected houses and food items of the people living in that community.

In his remarks after inspecting the affected areas, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the state government will look within its little resources and come to the aid of the people affected, particularly those who loss their houses and sources of livelihood.

The governor who sympathized with the people, said government will at the end of the rainy season look on how to arrest the routes of the floods particularly when there is heavy down pour on the mountainous area.

While advising those at the banks of the streams to relocate to more safe grounds, the governor called on the people to be patient and vigilant as this situation may happen in the night when everyone is asleep and lives can be loss.

The flooding which occured as a result of heavy downpour on the mountainous area has caused damage to houses, food items and sources of livelihood of the people of that area.
