Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa Stare Tuesday swore into office, Dr. Salihi Ibrahim Ateeku as Special Adviser on Universal Basic Education and Educational Development.
The literary icon, Dr Ateeku who hails from Michika local government area was the immediate past chairman of Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB).
In his remarks, Governor Umaru Fintiri expressed confidence that with his qualifications and experience, Dr. Ateeku will fit well into his new position and is capable to manage the affairs of the sector.
The Governor urged the appointee to use his wealth of experience and bring a lot of changes in education that are paramount for the state to make the future of the children and the yet unborn brighter.
He charged the new special adviser to hit the ground running, turn things around for the better and write his name in gold as according to the Governor, the task ahead is enormous.
Governor Fintiri observed that it is longer easy getting appointment particularly at this hard times, when the demands of people are high, calling on Dr Ibrahim Ateeku to carry everybody along for the good.
He reminded the appointee on the need to work hard at the grassroot as he done before to make the PDP emerged successful and more dominant after the conduct of forthcoming local government election in the state.
In his vote of thanks, the new Special Adviser, Dr Salihi Ibrahim Ateeku thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for giving him another opportunity to serve the state and expressed commitment to justify the confidence reposed in him.
He thanked Governor Fintiri for introducing him into politics and promised to deploy his vast experience and bring good advice that will stimulate the growth of the education sector in the state.
