Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has commiserated with management, staff, and students of Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi following the devastating fire that destroyed the University Faculty Building of Management Sciences.
The Governor expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident and extended his sympathy to the university’s management and students, assuring them of the government’s commitment to restoring the damaged building.
During a 3-day working visit to Adamawa North, the Governor took the time to visit the university community, pledging to address the institution’s other pressing issues, particularly relating to water and electricity supply.
The Governor revealed that the government has made significant investments in the university’s water system and assured that the water supply issue will be resolved in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, he announced a collaboration with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the establishment of a large solar farm to provide ample power for both the old and new university campuses.
Fintiri stressed the significance of the university to the state government and its people, reiterating his administration’s unwavering commitment to upholding the institution’s standing in the country.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Stephen Lagu, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for his support during the tour of the affected university faculty building.
Upon arriving at the university campus, the Governor received a warm reception from the students, who thanked him for his consistent support and urged him to address the water scarcity issues at the university.
Representing the students, Comrade Frama conveyed his and his peers’ support for the Governor while highlighting electricity and water supply as their primary concerns, appealing for the Governor’s intervention.
